Music Therapy (or Music Psychotherapy) is a psychological therapy which uses music as the primary mode of communication, like how talking therapies use speech as the primary mode of communication. Music Therapy with older adults can include support for a range of conditions including;
- depression
- anxiety
- trauma
- social isolation
- pain management
- end-of-life care
- and symptoms of dementia such as irritability, memory loss and stress

A holistic approach
Often we work with older adults to help them to better engage with their family, staff, wider support structure and activities. We believe that everyone can communicate through music and this therapy is not just for those we think of as “musical”.
Supporting Individuals
We can travel to you! If you are in your own home, sessions can be delivered in your livingroom or conservatory. If you are in a care home we can deliver sessions in your room in a quiet area of the home for around 45 minutes.
Supporting Groups
A music therapy group usually consists of a maximum of 6 residents meeting either weekly or fortnightly for 45 minutes. Normally the specific residents that take part remain consistent where possible.
Supporting Positive Transitions
It can be hard moving into a new home or returning from a hospital stay. We offer a 5 Individual session package to support these transitions and help you settle in your home and support structure. Please enquire for more information
